Quick Answers to Common Questions
The business is me, and you’ll always deal with me personally. I like to think I provide an agency-style complete service, with freelancer-style pricing, speed and attention.
My pricing page gives indications from about £700 to £1,900 to design, build and deploy your site, depending on what you need. For something simple but effective, such as a one-page site or a rebuild of a WordPress site that’s already mostly there, prices can start from my day rate of £320.
I won’t make “website in a day” promises, because that doesn’t allow time for proper thinking about your business, your competitors and what you need. Where it’s urgent and we can gather the content quickly, I can produce a site within a few days. For something more substantial, realistically think in terms of two to four weeks. I schedule very flexibly.
The more you can give me, the better, but I regularly work from a handful of phone photos and a Facebook page, or even less. Notes are fine. I can (and probably will) adapt your text and write search-aware copy, and I’ve even been known to take some photos. You can send content any way you like, including WhatsApp.
Yes. You completely own your website and content, which is what makes WordPress so much better than locked-in subscription services like Wix or Squarespace. You can take a full copy of your site, files and database, and host it anywhere. I encourage all my clients to register their own domain name, because it’s the key to your brand and you should have ultimate control. And I can take you through every step of doing it.
Either! You can have a login and edit the site yourself. WordPress is designed to make that easy, and I can teach you how. I’m also very happy to do it all for you, on an ongoing monthly basis or as a one-off.
I can arrange, set up and manage the hosting for you, and nearly all my clients take advantage of this. My fully managed hosting (starting from £12.50 per month) handles updates, backups and security, so you don’t need to worry about your site staying fast, secure and online.

Yes. Many of the sites I’ve built are online shops, from small independent retailers to larger stores. I build them on WordPress with WooCommerce (see my WooCommerce sites). Tell me what you sell and roughly how much, and I’ll tell you what’s realistic and what it would cost.
Yes, I regularly do. For a WordPress site, that might mean rebuilding the front end on something more modern, sorting out plugins, security and speed, and taking over the hosting, all while keeping your existing content, posts, products, users, customers and orders. If your site isn’t on WordPress yet, I’ll want to rebuild it, but I can still pull content from your old site where that helps.
Yes. I enjoy working with businesses and organisations close to me in Devon, because I grew up here, understand the area and like to visit and share in my clients’ experiences. But I also have clients in Wales, the Cotswolds, London and the South East, the North West and Catalonia, among other places.
